Platinum ore in Terraria is found just like any other ore - by mining! You'll typically find it deep underground, but not as deep as you would for the hardest-to-reach ores. It often spawns in the cavern layer, but the distribution is pretty random, so keep an eye out for its distinctive shiny, silver blocks. Keep your pickaxe ready!

lol just fish for crates. The Iron and Golden Crates have a chance to drop Platinum ore or bars. It's like a lucky dip but with less digging.

Honestly, who needs Platinum? Iron gear is the true stylish way to go. #IronGang

Pro tip: If you're struggling to find Platinum in your world, remember Terraria worlds are generated with either Platinum or Gold as the primary tier 2 metal, not both. If you've found a lot of Gold, you might not have Platinum in your world at all. Time to get trading or to visit another world!
