Head to the Safe Shallows and check out the small limestone caves. Beware of Crashfish, though; they're not exactly friendly.

I always find Cave Sulfur in the little caves near the starting lifepod. Just listen for the sound of angry Crashfish—where there's smoke, there's sulfur!
