Complete daily and weekly projects as well as Control Points at higher tiers. These can reward you with high-end items.
Just play on higher difficulty settings. The tougher the challenge, the better the loot!
I've gotten some of my best high-end gear from running legendary difficulty missions with a solid squad. Worth the grind!
