The very first Grand Theft Auto game to hit the streets was the original Grand Theft Auto, released back in 1997. It was a top-down, open-world game that introduced players to the criminal underground that has since become a hallmark of the series. So, if we're talking about the one that started it all, it's GTA 1 from '97!

Actually, it was GTA 1 back in '97. Played it on my dusty old PC, and it blew my mind how you could just steal cars and go on missions. Absolute game-changer!

It's GTA 1 from 1997. And here's a hot take: despite the graphics and top-down view, it's still as fun as the latest releases. Classics never die.

If you're a Grand Theft Auto player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

That includes gift cards from all of your favorite gaming platforms, like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Steam and more... which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
