Which Hunter x Hunter Anime is Better?
I think the 1999 version has a charm of its own! It's darker and has more detailed character expressions. Plus, it gives the Hunter Exam arc more time to breathe.

Hot take: both are awesome in their own ways, so just watch them both!
The 2011 version is hands down better. It has better animation, more episodes, and follows the manga more closely. Honestly, the Chimera Ant arc alone makes it worth watching.
I've watched both, and the 2011 reboot was just more enjoyable. Crisp animation, fantastic fight scenes, and it covers more of the manga. Can't go wrong with either though!
