Just use the browser version directly from The New York Times website to avoid any app confusion. That's the OG Wordle!

The official Wordle! app is available on both the App Store for iOS devices and the Google Play Store for Android devices. Look for the one developed by Jonathan Feinberg and later acquired by The New York Times.

I鈥檝e been playing the official Wordle! app on my phone for months now. As long as you get it from the App Store or Google Play Store and see The New York Times as the developer, you鈥檙e golden!

If you're a Wordle! player looking for extra credit or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Wordle! essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
