Without a doubt, the Alpha set takes the crown for having some of the most valuable cards in MTG history. Imagine owning a piece of that! The Power Nine from this set, especially the Black Lotus, are the stuff of legends and command jaw-dropping prices. It's like the golden ticket of MTG.

Gotta say, newer isn't always better. The older sets like Alpha and Beta hold the most valuable gems. That Black Lotus though, is more than just a card, it's an investment!

Actually, it's all about the Reserved List when you talk value. Sets with cards on that list, like Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited Editions, are where the real treasures are at. These cards are never getting reprinted, so their value just skyrockets.

I'd argue newer sets have potential for value too, especially with secret lair drops and mythic rares. But yeah, Alpha wins for now.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
