Hot take: NBA 2K18! It had The Neighborhood which was a game changer. Wandering around, playing pickup games, and getting haircuts kept me hooked for hours.
If you ask me, NBA 2K14 was the peak! It was the first game on PS4 and Xbox One and the career mode was revolutionary at the time. Nostalgia does play a big part here.
In my experience, NBA 2K20 hit the sweet spot. Great story, cool features, and best of all, it wasn’t too grindy compared to other versions. Loved the cutscenes and the overall flow of the game.
Gotta say NBA 2K21! The MyCareer mode had the best plot and graphics, with a story that felt real and current. Plus, playing on next-gen consoles made it even better.
