Honestly, it doesn't matter too much. Each game can stand on its own. Just pick one and dive in!
Release order is always a safe bet: Xenoblade Chronicles, then Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and finally Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It flows nicely story-wise too!
I started with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and then went back to the Definitive Edition. Worked out fine for me. Dive in wherever you like!
