Only the original 20GB and 60GB launch models of the PS3 have full hardware backwards compatibility with PS2 games. They are rare and can be pricey now!

Hot take: Don't bother hunting for a compatible PS3; just get a PS2 for the best experience with PS2 games.

The 80GB models made before the 2008 revision are also backwards compatible but use software emulation, which means not all PS2 games will work.

From experience, my old 60GB PS3 plays PS2 games flawlessly. Definitely worth checking the model before buying if PS2 compatibility is a must.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
