I think the sheer variety of artists contributing to Pokemon TCG is what makes it so special! Sure, Sugimori and Arita are big names, but let's not forget others like Atsuko Nishida, who created Pikachu. Every artist adds their own flair.
Actually, it's a common misconception that Ken Sugimori did the most artwork. While he's definitely a key player, Arita Mitsuhiro deserves a shoutout too. His illustrations cover a vast number of cards and are among fan favorites. His work on the Charizard card alone has made it one of the most recognizable and beloved cards out there.
It's all about Arita for me. His art has a unique vibe that stands out. Plus, who can forget that OG Charizard card? Iconic.
