George Fan is the brain behind Plants vs Zombies. He created it while working at PopCap Games, making it one of the most iconic tower defense games around. Bet you didn't know a single guy could make zombies and plants this much fun!
Not to be that person, but does it really matter who invented it? The game's fun, eats up my free time, and that's all I care about. Still, props to George Fan, I guess, for making my productivity go down the drain in the most enjoyable way.
I actually read somewhere that George Fan was inspired by other tower defense games but wanted to make something unique. Plants fighting zombies? Genius move. The game blew up way beyond what anyone expected, proof that sometimes the craziest ideas are the best. He worked with PopCap Games to bring it to life, and the rest is history. Now, if only my plants were as good at defending my house...
