In Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and the manga, this plot point doesn't exist. Rose isn't shown to have a baby at all.

In the first Fullmetal Alchemist series (2003), Rose's baby is never given a specific father's identity. It's implied, however, that the baby might be a result of a tragic encounter during the occupation of her town by soldiers.
