Elliot Handler is the brain behind the first Hot Wheels. He was one of the co-founders of Mattel, and he created these iconic cars in 1968. Think of it as a dad trying to make the coolest toy car for his son, and boom, Hot Wheels was born!

It was Elliot Handler, co-founder of Mattel, who invented the first Hot Wheels. No debate, just pure toy car genius at work.

Actually, it was Elliot Handler at Mattel. He wanted to create a toy car that was more exciting than anything out there, and certainly succeeded. I mean, who among us didn't have a Hot Wheels phase?

Elliot Handler. Period. The man saw a need for more thrilling toy cars and filled it with Hot Wheels. Simple as that.
