The first Pokémon card was created by Satoshi Tajiri along with the illustrator Ken Sugimori. Tajiri, the genius behind the Pokémon concept, worked with Sugimori to bring the cards to life visually. This dynamic duo made the first card around the early '90s, kickstarting what we now know as the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

Wasn't just Tajiri & Sugimori, guys. Don't forget about Creatures Inc. They co-developed the game with Game Freak and Nintendo. They all had a hand in making those first cards.

Actually, it's all about Nintendo. They're the ones who published it and really made it happen.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
