From my time playing, I've found that teaming up with Chaos factions works wonders. You share a disdain for the living and can coordinate attacks effectively.
Ally with the Greenskins. They love a good fight and can distract your enemies while you feast on the aftermath.
For the Vampire Counts, the best allies are usually the Skaven, because they're sneaky and have a shared interest in chaos and destruction. Dark Elves can also be a solid choice due to their mutual distrust of the living.
