Why am I getting matched with higher ranks in Valorant?

Matchmaking's kinda like online dating - it tries its best but doesn’t always get it right. If you keep getting matched with higher ranks, it's cuz the game thinks you're that good (flattering, right?). Or, maybe there aren't enough players at your level online. Either way, it's a chance to learn from better players, even if it feels like you're getting schooled.

Ugh same here, I feel ya. But honestly, after a few brutal matches, I noticed my playstyle improving. Those higher-ranked games forced me to step up. Still tough, but I kinda appreciate the challenge now?

Oh, the eternal struggle of feeling like a small fish in a big pond. It's likely because the Valorant matchmaking system tries to find the best match for you in terms of skill level, not just rank. Sometimes, it means throwing you in the deep end to see how you swim with the big fish. Your hidden MMR (Matchmaking Rating) might be higher than your current rank, so the game thinks you can handle tougher opponents. Or, it could be off-hours when there's a smaller pool of players, so the system has to stretch a bit to find you a game.

If you're a Valorant player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Valorant gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
