Make sure you have a strong network connection! Sometimes weak signal causes delays in receiving SMS codes.
Have you tried restarting your phone? Seriously, it solves more problems than you'd think.
Make sure your phone isn't blocking messages from unknown numbers. Some messaging apps and services do this by default.
Sometimes carriers have delays. Just give it a few minutes and try requesting the code again.
