It's simple, supply and demand. Less of the old cards are out there, and a ton of people want them. Plus, some of those cards are super powerful in the game, making them even more desirable.

Honestly, people are just obsessed with nostalgia. They want to own a piece of their childhood, and with everyone feeling the same way, prices just skyrocket.

Old Pokemon cards are like vintage wine - they get more valuable with age. First, there's nostalgia. Fans who grew up with Pokemon want to relive their childhoods, and they're willing to pay top dollar for those memories. Then, there's scarcity. Older cards, especially the first editions and those in mint condition, are rarer, making them more sought after. Lastly, certain cards were just printed less or have unique attributes, like misprints or artwork, that make them collector's gold.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
