There actually are a few black characters, like Rock Lock! But yeah, overall, Japanese anime doesn't have a lot of racial diversity.

Anime often reflects the culture and demographics of its country of origin, and Japan is predominantly ethnically homogenous. That's why you might not see a lot of diversity in My Hero Academia.

It's mainly cuz anime creators use their own cultural and societal context to create characters. Japan lacks racial diversity, so it isn't reflected as much in their media.

If you're a My Hero Academia fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
