Why Are There No Black People in My Hero Academia?
ResolvingGame路4 months agoThere actually are a few black characters, like Rock Lock! But yeah, overall, Japanese anime doesn't have a lot of racial diversity.

Anime often reflects the culture and demographics of its country of origin, and Japan is predominantly ethnically homogenous. That's why you might not see a lot of diversity in My Hero Academia.
It's mainly cuz anime creators use their own cultural and societal context to create characters. Japan lacks racial diversity, so it isn't reflected as much in their media.
Maybe we haven't seen many yet, but stay tuned鈥攏ew characters keep popping up!
