Boruto's whiskers are a genetic trait inherited from his dad, Naruto. Naruto got them from housing the Nine-Tails fox demon, Kurama, and Boruto inherited them because of Kurama’s chakra influencing Naruto’s body.

He's got those whiskers thanks to Naruto! Kurama's influence on Naruto passed them down to Boruto.

It's simple! Boruto's whiskers are a genetic gift from Naruto, who got them from Kurama, the Nine-Tails fox.
