Could be a bug! Try restarting the game or reloading your save; it worked for me.
Sometimes it's just a game mechanic preventing you from sleeping too often. Make sure you've waited long enough between attempts.
You can't sleep if you're too hungry or thirsty. Check your survival stats and address those needs.
