Your friend's account settings might be set to not accept friend requests. Ask them to check their privacy settings in the game!

First off, make sure you're both playing on the same platform or have enabled cross-play in the game settings! Sometimes it's as simple as a typo in their username, so double-check that. Also, their friend list or yours might be full. Time to do some spring cleaning!

It's likely just a bug. Restart the game or wait a bit. The servers can get wonky with all the action happening.
