Why can't I build beds in Fallout 4?
ManningAndy·7 months agoFirst off, make sure you have all the needed materials to build a bed. You'll need cloth, which you can get by scrapping items like pre-war money, clothes, or picking up junk that contains cloth. Also, you'll need to be in workshop mode and have the area cleared where you want to place the bed. Sometimes the game can be a bit finicky, so try moving around the settlement or reloading your save if it’s not working initially.

Might be a bug. Fallout 4 can get quirky. Try reloading your game or fast-traveling to another location and back. Worked for me when I hit a snag building other stuff.
You're probably out of cloth! Scour for some pre-war money, old clothes, or teddy bears, then scrap 'em for material. And remember, you gotta be in workshop mode to play interior decorator.
No materials, no beddy-bye. Grab some cloth from junk and make sure you're in workshop mode.
