Had the same issue! I tried creating an account on my laptop instead of my phone, and it worked immediately.
Make sure you鈥檙e following Instagram's guidelines for usernames. Sometimes certain names or characters aren鈥檛 allowed.
Could be your internet connection acting up. Try switching networks or restarting your router.
Just saying, maybe Instagram is having technical problems. Give it a little time and try again.
