Why Can't I Fast Travel in Starfield?
Make sure you're outside on a planet's surface or in your ship. Fast travel is limited in certain locations, especially indoors or during specific mission objectives.

Check if you're in combat or over-encumbered! Starfield won't let you fast travel if you're hauling too much stuff or getting shot at.
You might be trying to fast travel from an indoor location or somewhere that doesn't allow it. Try stepping outside first.
Fast travel might be disabled during certain mission sequences. Try completing the current objective first.
Sometimes it's just a glitch. If all else fails, save your game, restart, and try again. Worked for me!
