Why Can't I Fast Travel in Starfield?
You may need to be on a planet's surface or at least out of any buildings. Fast travel usually requires an open area.

Fast travel can be picky in Starfield. Make sure you're not carrying too much weight, because nobody likes a sluggish spaceship!
If you have an encumbrance issue (carrying too much stuff), it can prevent fast travel. Lighten your load and try again!
Can't fast travel? Check your location and mission status! You need to be in a safe area and not in the middle of some epic space battle or storyline mission. Also, make sure your ship has enough fuel to make the journey!
Hey, it might be because you're in combat. The game won't let you fast travel while enemies are around. Try clearing them out first!
