First thing to check: make sure both your and your teammate's voice chat settings are turned on in the game. You can find these settings under the audio menu.

Sometimes the issue is with your platform's settings, not Fortnite. Make sure your microphone and audio devices are set correctly in your console or PC settings.

If you can't hear your teammate, make sure they didn't accidentally mute themselves or you haven't muted them. It happens more often than you'd think!

Hot take: restart the game. 90% of the time, a good ol' reboot solves the mystery.

Had the same problem! Turns out my game chat channel was set to Party Chat instead of Game Chat. Switching it fixed everything!

If you're a Fortnite player looking for extra v-bucks, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Fortnite gift card, which you can win and use to get v-bucks essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company. The logos and other identifying marks attached are trademarks of and owned by each represented company and/or its affiliates. Please visit each company's website for additional terms and conditions.
