Might be a connection issue on either end, or maybe your friend鈥檚 room is already full. Double-check those invites!
Are you both definitely online and friends in the game? Sometimes it's just a syncing issue. Restarting the game can help.
I had a similar issue once, we found out it was because of our different ranks! Check the mode too, they need to match.
