Might sound silly, but make sure your device's touch screen or mouse isn't broken or dirty! I've seen that happen more times than you'd think.
Could be a lag issue. If your internet connection is slow, the game might not register your inputs properly.
Try resetting your character or rejoining the game. Sometimes the game just bugs out and a quick reset can fix the problem!
