Aaron Kaufman left Gas Monkey Garage and their Hot Wheels build project because he wanted to pursue his own endeavors after years of working alongside Richard Rawlings. He was looking to develop his own shop and brand, focusing on projects that were closer to his personal interests and aspirations in the automotive world. The departure was amicable but marked a significant change in Aaron's career, moving away from the fast-paced, deadline-driven builds at Gas Monkey to concentrate on his own creative visions.

Aaron left Gas Monkey because he felt creatively restrained. Working on Hot Wheels builds was cool but he wanted to design cars his way without being boxed in. It's like when you've outgrown your high-rise garage and need a whole runway to test your wings. He just needed more space to fly.

Simply put, Aaron was ready to roll out on his own adventures. After many seasons of turning wrenches and burning midnight oil, the man decided it was time to steer his talents towards projects that sparked more joy in his gearhead heart. Gas Monkey was just a pit stop on his journey to build dream rides under his own flag.
