Fox merging with Disney caused a reshuffling of superhero priorities. Deadpool's not gone, just playing hide and seek for now!
To be honest, Deadpool just needed a vacation after dealing with all that Fox drama.
Disney bought Fox, they got all the toys including Deadpool. It's more of a handoff than a drop.
