Why did GTA 6 take so long to release?
Rockstar Games took their sweet time with GTA 6 because they're all about quality over quantity. They're known for creating massive, detailed worlds that feel alive, and that level of detail takes years to develop. Plus, the success of GTA V and its online component probably gave them the breathing room to perfect GTA 6 without rushing.

Game dev is no joke, and GTA 6 is massive. Rockstar didn't want to release just another game; they wanted to redefine the open-world genre again. So, they took their time to ensure everything from the storyline, gameplay mechanics, to the in-game economy was top-notch. Also, tech keeps evolving, so incorporating the latest advancements probably added to the delay.
Honestly, I think they just wanted to keep us all on our toes. But for real, creating a game that tops GTA V is a tall order, and tech upgrades, ensuring everything is just perfect, and maybe even waiting out the next-gen console rollouts could have contributed to the timeline.
Was it worth the wait? Absolutely. Quality takes time, and Rockstar Games is not the type to cut corners. Patience is a virtue, my friends.
