Honestly, it seems like a classic case of too many projects, not enough time. Madhouse had to prioritize their workload.
Maybe Madhouse wanted a break from all those Saitama punches! Joking aside, they just had other commitments.
From what I've heard, it was all about timing and availability. Madhouse had other projects lined up and couldn't continue with One Punch Man.
