I've watched that episode so many times! Rize's attack caused the construction site they're fighting in to collapse, burying Kaneki in the process.
Kaneki got caught in a freak accident at a construction site while Rize was trying to eat him, and boom! Debris everywhere.
The gerders fell on Kaneki because Rize, the ghoul who attacked him, lost control during their fight, causing the construction site to collapse.
