Because the original 2001 adaptation didn't cover the entire manga series. Also, the animation quality and voice acting got a massive upgrade!
The original series had a different ending and left out many characters and plot points. The 2019 version fixed that.
To give the fans the complete story we deserved! 2019's remake follows the manga faithfully and introduces us to all those amazing characters who got left out the first time.
Who wouldn't want another heaping dose of Tohru's kindness and Kyo's sass? The remake gave us just that and more!
