One big reason they remade Hunter x Hunter in 2011 was to update the animation quality and stay more faithful to the manga. Plus, the new version introduces the Chimera Ant arc, which the original never covered.

The 2011 remake of Hunter x Hunter was created to provide better animation and pacing, making it more enjoyable for both new and old fans.

Simply put, the 1999 version just didn't keep up with the manga. The 2011 reboot fixed that and gave us some sweet HD visuals in the process!

I watched both versions, and trust me, the 2011 remake is just superior. It's more aligned with the manga and the animation is top-notch!
