WIT Studio had to prioritize their resources and creative energy on new projects. Basically, they needed a change of scenery. MAPPA took over to get some fresh blood into the series.

WIT Studio left Attack on Titan to focus on other projects and reduce the workload on their team. They'd been working on the series for several years, and it was time to pass the torch!

WIT probably left Attack on Titan because they just couldn't handle the pressure anymore. MAPPA's doing a good job though, so no worries!
