In Sonic Mania, you gotta complete the Act and then the Zone to save your progress. Make sure to use the save option in Mania Mode, not the No Save Mode, for those sweet level saves!

Did you leave the game in No Save Mode? Try Mania Mode for saving levels!

Trust me, I once played in the wrong mode for a week! Stick with Mania Mode unless you enjoy restarting from scratch like I once did.
