Had the same issue! Cleaned the disc and the Wii's laser lens, and it worked perfectly after that!

Nintendo really messed up with those dual-layer discs. Just get another copy or borrow one from a friend.

Brawl uses a dual-layer disc format which some Wii consoles struggle with. Try cleaning the lens or disc, or using a lens cleaner kit.

It鈥檚 probably because of scratches on the disc or dust on the Wii laser. Clean both and cross your fingers!
