It's not that the weaponry is terrible, it's that the Titans are just THAT tough! Those things are like walking, man-eating tanks!

Attack on Titan has such terrible weaponry because the story is set in a world with limited technological advancements, mostly isolated from modern innovations. It's like bringing a knife to a titan fight!

Because fighting gigantic humanoid monsters with anything less than medieval weapons would just be too easy and boring!

The Survey Corps weaponry may seem outdated, but it reflects the show's themes of humanity's struggle and the dire circumstances they face.

Honestly, I think it adds to the tension and makes the battles even more epic. Who needs lasers when you have epic sword fights and maneuver gear?

If you're a Attack on Titan fan, you need to download the Playbite app!
