Dragon Ball GT got a lot of hate because it wasn't based on the original manga, and many fans felt it just didn't capture the magic of Dragon Ball Z. Plus, some thought the storylines were kinda meh and didn't like Goku being turned back into a kid.

Because it strayed too far from what made Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z so great. Super Saiyan 4 looked cool, but the rest? Not so much.

As a die-hard Dragon Ball fan, I really wanted to like GT, but it just didn't have the same level of epic battles and excitement that Z had. The pacing was off, and some characters felt underutilized.

Hot take: Dragon Ball GT isn't as bad as everyone says. It just got unlucky following the epicness of DBZ. Give it a rewatch, you might enjoy it more now.

Honestly, Dragon Ball GT wasn't bad, but it didn't have Toriyama's direct involvement, which made it feel off for many fans. The extended focus on the Black Star Dragon Balls saga was also kinda boring.
