Naruto walked so Jujutsu Kaisen could run. The references are a tip of the hat to Naruto's impact on the genre and its role in inspiring the next generation of manga creators, including Akutami. It's all about showing respect.

Cuz all manga are basically part of one big family. Some are about ninjas, others about sorcerers, but they all share that battle shonen DNA. A Naruto reference here and there in JJK is just like recognizing your cool older cousin.

Because both Jujutsu Kaisen and Naruto borrow from the rich tapestry of Japanese folklore and Shinto beliefs, it's natural to see some thematic and conceptual overlaps. Plus, Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, hasn't shied away from admitting the influence of earlier shonen manga, including Naruto, on their work. A little nod here and there is like passing the torch in the manga world!

Eh, I think people read too much into it. Manga creators reference each other all the time. It's not that deep.

If you're a Jujutsu Kaisen fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
