It could be the Epic Games servers are experiencing high traffic. Try updating at a different time when fewer people are online.
Sometimes antivirus or firewall settings can interfere with update speeds. Temporarily disabling them might help.
Make sure you have enough free space on your device. Sometimes a lack of space can slow down updates.
For me, connecting my device directly to the router with an ethernet cable made a huge difference. No more snail-speed updates!
