Why does my Steam download keep dropping?
ResolvingGame路7 months agoIt's all about that internet life. Bad connection = sad Steam downloads. Make sure it's stable, and maybe avoid downloading during peak Steam sale hours when everyone's clogging the pipes trying to grab the latest deal. Worked for me, at least.

ISP throttling is real. If it feels like your internet's fine but Steam's slow, your ISP might be slowing down your connection on purpose. A VPN could help, if that's the case. Sneaky, but effective.
Could be your firewall or antivirus messing with Steam. Try disabling them briefly (just remember to turn them back on) and see if your downloads improve. If they do, you might need to add an exception for Steam in those programs.
Steam downloads can drop for a few reasons! Your internet connection might be unstable, so try resetting your router. Steam servers could be overloaded, especially during big sales or game launches, leading to slower downloads. Also, check your Steam settings to ensure download restrictions aren't set too low.
