The PS4 copies files slowly because it reverts to its old school mechanical hard drive for copying and not its faster SSD. Patience, young grasshopper!

It's basically the PS4 doing a meticulous check to make sure your game updates and installs are perfect. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

The hard drive inside your PS4 isn't the fastest, and copying processes involve a lot of data verification. Yup, it takes time.

Honestly, it's just because the PS4's hardware is getting old. Might be time for a PS5 upgrade if speed's your thing!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
