When your computer goes to sleep, it basically pauses all activities, including updating War Thunder. Try changing your power settings to keep it awake during updates.

Yeah, sleep mode will halt all downloads including game updates. Set your computer to 'never sleep' while you’re updating.

I had the same issue! You can go into your PC's power settings and set it to 'never sleep' while plugged in. This keeps the updates going. Worked like a charm for me!
