Why is Attack on Titan Season 2 Only 12 Episodes?
The second season has just 12 episodes mainly due to production reasons. It takes a lot of time and effort to create such an intense show with top-notch animation. So, they shortened the season to maintain the quality we all love.

Blame it on the pacing and production schedules! They had to make sure the quality didn't dip, so 12 episodes it is.
I remember waiting for season 2 and hearing the decision was made to ensure the animation stayed jaw-dropping. It was worth the wait!
