In my experience, the anime sometimes takes detours with original content to give the manga breathing room. Keeps things fresh!

The manga and anime of Boruto are different mainly because the anime has to keep pace with the manga's release schedule. That's why we see a lot more filler content in the anime.

Manga's more direct, anime adds fluff to buy time. Simple as that.

Different creative visions between the teams working on the manga and anime lead to unique storylines and character development in each format.

The Boruto manga and anime differ because the anime often includes filler episodes and extended story arcs to give the manga time to get ahead. Plus, they have different creative teams, so there's bound to be some variance!
