Far Cry 6 isn't on Steam because Ubisoft chooses to release some of its games exclusively on its own platform, Ubisoft Connect, and sometimes on the Epic Games Store as part of a strategic move to maximize profits and control the distribution of its games. It's all about business strategy and steering gamers towards their ecosystem.

Ubisoft just loves to play hard to get. They want you to visit their own house, Ubisoft Connect, or maybe drop by Epic Games Store for tea. Steam? Maybe not for Far Cry 6; they're keeping that adventure in the family.

Ubisoft and Steam had a bit of a 'it's not you, it's me' situation. Far Cry 6 ended up being exclusive to Ubisoft Connect and Epic because Ubisoft prefers it that way. Simple as that.

Actually, it's more like Ubisoft's trying to avoid Steam's cut on game sales. More money in their pocket if you buy directly from Ubisoft Connect or even Epic Games Store.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
